    Treatment Day & Recovery

    The Kodawari Facial begins with a thorough consultation to design a protocol matched to your skin type, goals, and downtime tolerance. Pre-treatment skincare is typically prescribed for two to four weeks before your session to optimize healing. Comfort options include topical lidocaine and Pronox, with full lidocaine sedation available for deeper treatments.

    Custom Protocol Design

    Dr. Turin assess your skin, review your goals, and design a treatment depth and intensity matched to your skin type and the downtime you can accommodate. The Kodawari is calibrated to each patient — never one-size-fits-all.

    The Kodawari Session

    Plan for 1.5 to 2.5 hours in the chair. Topical numbing is applied first, followed by the CO₂ laser pass, then microneedling, finished with the exosome application. The full protocol is performed in a single session to maximize the synergy between modalities.

    Initial Healing

    Expect significant redness, swelling, and tightness. Skin will feel hot and look sunburned. Strict aftercare protocol with prescribed moisturizers and sun avoidance is critical during this phase. Plan to be home and off-camera.

    Skin Reveal

    The outer layer begins peeling and fresh, smoother skin emerges underneath. Residual pinkness remains but is easily covered with mineral makeup. Most patients return to social activities by day 7 to 10.

    Kodawari Facial FAQs

    A standard CO₂ treatment uses laser resurfacing alone. The Kodawari layers in microneedling and PDRN therapy in the same session, which amplifies collagen response, accelerates healing, and produces a more dramatic, longer-lasting result. The PDRN also reduced downtime compared to CO₂ on its own.

    Plan for 7 to 10 days of social downtime. The first 3 to 4 days involve significant redness and peeling. Most patients are camera-ready with light makeup by day 7 to 10, with residual pinkness fully resolving over 3 to 4 weeks. The PDRN component shortens recovery compared to standalone CO₂.
