Rejuvenate Your Appearance By Reducing Sagging Skin and Wrinkles
You already know that our facial appearance is critical to how others view us; a youthful, attractive appearance has been shown to help in all areas of life, including dating, forming friendly relationships, sales, and how we’re promoted at work. We also know that certain changes predictably occur over time: the face will start to lose volume, the skin will thin, and tissues will slowly take on new positions, which indicate aging. The exact sequence of this varies from person to person, but the same issues tend to bother most of us: sagging cheeks, jowling where once we had a crisp jawline, and a loose neck. These are dead giveaways for aging; it makes sense that these are the issues we most want to correct.
When you’re ready to discuss a holistic approach to your facial rejuvenation and would like to work with a surgeon who prioritizes a soft, natural look, give us a call or text at (480) 256-8018, and we will schedule a consultation to create a custom treatment plan for you. Whether you’re local to Scottsdale or Phoenix, have a short drive from Gilbert or Chandler, or are out of state, we routinely care for patients who travel in for these procedures. Patients across the Valley choose Koda Plastic Surgery for a facelift in Scottsdale that looks soft and natural, never pulled.

Why You Should Consider a Facelift or Neck Lift at Koda Plastic Surgery
If you want to experience the best in the plastic surgery world, consider Koda Plastic Surgery. We are proud to offer the most innovative options for facial rejuvenation.
So what are the options? Wherever you go, medspas, skin lounges, and your phone will pepper you with ads for skin tightening serums, lasers, peels, and so on. You can try PDO threads, RF microneedling, or any other number of devices, and you’ll see the same thing throughout. While there will be a small effect, none of these treatments can make a real difference or turn back time.
Thankfully, the surgical options have progressed massively in the last couple of decades, so while we still call these procedures facelifts, they are like a Tesla to your parents’ 1992 Lincoln Continental: the concept is similar, but the experience is different.
The current gold standard for real facial rejuvenation is the Extended Deep Plane Facelift, which has been more in the public eye after designer Marc Jacobs and reality TV star Sonja Morgan underwent this procedure with phenomenal results. Dr. Sergey Turin is a board-certified, natural-looking facelift surgeon trained in the intricate art of deep-plane facelifting. He has been practicing deep-plane facelifting throughout his career. Dr. Turin believes that our facial appearance always deserves the most exacting care of anything we do, and we will take no shortcuts in producing the most natural and refreshed results. Most importantly, the key to our success has been creating beautiful, rejuvenated faces that look normal. A well-done facelift should leave you looking like yourself, not the stretched and pulled version that comes to mind when considering facelifts from previous decades.
Back to Basics: What Is a Facelift?
A neck lift in Scottsdale, also called platysmaplasty, is closely related to a facelift and is usually performed at the same time. As a standalone procedure, neck lift surgery is rarely performed to improve neck contour. Traditionally, a facelift is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates the face. It is usually meant to tighten sagging skin, reposition the drooped tissues, and create a more youthful appearance. There are multiple variations of this—mini facelift, ponytail lift, etc.—which all have their role in special situations. We believe in the simple motto, “If you’re going to do it, do it well,” which is why, for most of our patients, we can customize a beautiful version of a deep-plane facelift that will be their very best option for creating a naturally rejuvenated appearance.
What Is a Neck Lift?
Facelift and Neck Lift: Are They Right for You?
As you’re thinking of options to refresh your look, just ask this simple question:
“Do I want an improvement or a correction?”
If you’d be happy with a partial improvement and feel like you took a step in the right direction, we’ll want to discuss options such as isolated facial fat grafting, peels, mini-facelifts, etc.
However, a facelift is the correct choice if you want to attack the problem and see a difference. Despite their higher price point, facelifts offer the best value among facial rejuvenation options simply because you get such a big change for your investment.

Extended Deep Plane Facelift
An extended deep-plane facelift is the most advanced facelift available. It is a comprehensive option for midface, lower facelift, jawline, and neck rejuvenation. This surgery is highly advanced and requires significant skill to perform because the deeper dissection brings the surgeon face-to-face (see what we did there?) with the facial nerves and ligaments that hold the tissues in place.
While tricky, working in this plane allows the surgeon to execute powerful repositioning maneuvers that bring the drooping cheeks and jowls back up, restore a sharp jawline, and crispen the neck. Moreover, this technique keeps more tissues together, avoiding extra trauma, which minimizes bruising, pain, and swelling and leads to rapid recovery.
The traditional incision pattern (in front and behind the ears, and 1 incision under the chin) is used because it’s the most inconspicuous, but the real magic happens deeper. This technique produces powerful changes but still looks very natural and soft. It’s perfect for patients who want to see a big difference but still look like themselves, avoiding the ‘operated’ look.
What Is Facial Fat Grafting?
Facial fat grafting is always included with our facelift procedures, and re-volumizing the cheeks, temples, and lower lids is critical to obtaining a youthful appearance. Remember the last time you saw a toddler or an infant, how round and full their faces are? This is the concept at play: we want to reverse the age-related fat loss and fill out the skin envelope again. By using your fat, we are creating a volume that’s soft, natural, permanent, and totally free of the side effects commonly seen with fillers.
Face and Neck Lift FAQs
Who Is a Good Candidate for a Facelift or Neck Lift?
To be eligible for facelift surgery, you should have good overall health and realistic treatment expectations. Because this surgery is so custom, no one type of patient is ideal for it—whatever your concerns, we invite you to come in so we can develop a plan just for you.
How Much Does a Facelift or Neck Lift Cost?
We like to be as transparent as possible with our pricing. Even though it will obviously vary significantly from patient to patient, we will try to put up a monthly post on our pricing page with approximate average prices for the most commonly requested procedures. You can take a look at our page here.
What is an extended deep plane facelift?
An extended deep plane facelift is an advanced surgical technique that lifts and repositions deeper facial tissues for more natural and long-lasting rejuvenation. Unlike traditional facelifts that primarily tighten the skin, this procedure releases and repositions deeper layers of the face, including muscles and ligaments, for a more comprehensive lift. The “extended” approach allows for greater correction of sagging in the midface, jawline, and neck while maintaining a natural look. This technique provides longer-lasting results with less “pulled” appearance risk.
What is the downside of a deep plane facelift?
The downsides of a deep plane facelift include a longer recovery time compared to traditional facelifts, as swelling and bruising may take several weeks to fully subside. Since the procedure involves repositioning deeper facial structures, there is a slightly higher risk of complications, such as nerve injury, though this is rare with an experienced surgeon. Additionally, the surgery is more complex and requires a skilled specialist, often making it more expensive. While results are natural and long-lasting, as with any surgical procedure, there are risks of scarring, infection, or unsatisfactory outcomes.
What is the best age for facelift and neck lift surgery?
The best age for a deep plane facelift is typically between 40 and 60 years old, but the ideal timing depends on individual factors. Candidates should have some skin elasticity and noticeable signs of facial aging, such as sagging skin and deep wrinkles. Rather than focusing solely on age, the best time for the procedure is when these signs begin to impact your confidence and cannot be effectively addressed with non-surgical treatments.
How long does facelift and neck lift recovery take?
Recovery after a facelift, neck lift, or deep plane facelift is a gradual process. Most bruising and swelling improve significantly within the first two to three weeks, allowing many patients to return to their normal routines. While you’ll notice a refreshed appearance early in your recovery, subtle swelling continues to resolve over the following months. Your final results typically become fully apparent around six months, revealing smoother contours, a more defined jawline, and a naturally rejuvenated appearance.
Deep plane facelift vs traditional facelift: which is better?
A deep plane facelift can be better than a traditional facelift for many patients because it provides longer-lasting, more natural-looking results by lifting deeper facial structures rather than just tightening the skin. This technique is particularly effective for addressing significant sagging and deep wrinkles. However, it is also more invasive and costly than a traditional facelift, with a longer recovery time. The best option depends on individual needs, goals, and the degree of facial aging.
What does a facelift and neck lift treat?
A facelift and neck lift address many of the visible signs of facial aging that develop over time. These procedures can improve sagging skin, jowls, deep folds around the mouth, loss of jawline definition, loose skin beneath the chin, and excess fullness or banding in the neck. By lifting and repositioning the deeper facial tissues rather than simply tightening the skin, a facelift and neck lift restore smoother, more youthful contours while maintaining your natural facial expressions and appearance.
What is the facelift and neck lift results timeline?
You’ll notice an improvement immediately after surgery, although swelling and bruising will temporarily obscure your final results. Most patients feel comfortable returning to many normal activities within two to three weeks as the initial healing progresses. Over the next several months, residual swelling continues to resolve and the tissues gradually settle into their new position. By about six months, your final results are typically visible, revealing a naturally refreshed appearance with a more defined jawline and smoother neck contours.
